The University of Siena is proud to launch the 5th Edition of the Master in Vaccinology and Pharmaceutical Clinical Development in collaboration with the Fondazione Achille Sclavo ONLUS Professor Emanuele Montomoli is the Director of the Master Technical Scientific Committee which is responsible for designing the tailored and blended educational program.

The Master program will run from June 2017 to December 2018 and aims to provide young physicians from developing countries with interest in public health and infectious diseases the opportunity to learn about the following: vaccine preventable diseases, immunization, vaccine development and the roles of various stakeholders such as academia, governing authorities and supra-national organizations in vaccine policy setting and immunization programs.
Education is the best tool to help developing countries realize their own objectives, to address issues of human wellbeing, to build their own resources, to disseminate knowledge, to develop new professionals, to close gaps in vaccinology.


Moreover, the Master helps developing countries take effective action towards their own independence in key aspects such as pharmacovigilance, regulatory and epidemiology.


The Master is a blended educational program over 18 months, conducted in English and comprises:


1.    Ten (10) modules over a period of 11 months.
2.    Seven (7) months of internship.
3.    Tailored seminars.


At the end of the Master, following submission and discussion of a thesis, the Master degree is granted by the University of Siena. Read more.
